Video Exclusive: Broadway Backwards 7 Reverses Roles, Gives Voice to LGBT Experience

Billed as "not just another night on Broadway," the seventh annual Broadway Backwards began rehearsals only days before the March 5 performance. Tony nominee Robin de Jesús and director/choreographer/event creator Robert Bartley were on hand to give Playbill an exclusive look at the show, a musical review in which men sing Broadway favorites written for women, women sing songs written for men, and duets are man/man or woman/woman with the intent of creating new insights into the LGBT experience. This year's show features Tony Award-winners Betty Buckley, LaChanze and Len Cariou, Tony Award-nominees Charles Busch, Robin De Jesús, Nancy Dussault, Adam Pascal and Andrew Rannells, two-time Emmy Award-winning comedian Bruce Vilanch and television icon George Takei.
The evening will benefit Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS and the and the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Transgender Community Center. For tickets and information, click here.
