We Will Rock You, Featuring the Hits of Queen, Ready to Roll Out U.S. Tour
We Will Rock You — the musical fueled by the classic hits of British rock band Queen — tells the tale of a dystopian future where rock music has been outlawed and the young heroes out to save society from the blandness of corporate music. The show, in its 11th year at London's Dominion Theatre, starts a U.S. tour on Oct. 15 in Baltimore, MD. Playbill checked in on a New York City rehearsal and got a performance sample including "Under Pressure and "We Will Rock You," while the cast and director Ben Elton (who also wrote the book) chatted about the show and the timeless music. Read the Playbill story.
Holed up in a seedy motel on the edge of the Mojave Desert, two former lovers unpack the deep secrets and dark desires of their tangled relationship, passionately tearing each other apart. Led by director Daniel Aukin (Back Back Back at MTC, 4,000 Miles), Tony winner Nina Arianda (Venus in Fur at MTC, Born Yesterday) and Sam Rockwell (A Behanding in Spokane, The Way Way Back) bring an explosive intensity to Sam Shepard’s (Buried Child, True West) landmark myth of the new Wild West.
