Following Peter Morgan’s previously announced play Frost/Nixon, which runs from Aug. 10 through Oct. 7, Mamet’s The Cryptogram, first seen in London in 1994 with Eddie Izzard and Lindsay Duncan, will start previews Oct. 12. Josie Rourke’s (World Music) production opens Oct. 17.
Marber’s new play, Don Juan in Soho, which will be directed by Grandage, relocates Moliere’s 17th-century classic to London’s 21st-century Soho with its "swank, new hotels and festering, old clip joints, crackheads in alleys and cokeheads in clubs."
Marber’s previous work to be produced at the Donmar, After Miss Julie (also directed by Grandage), was also inspired by a classic, Strinberg’s Miss Julie.
John Gabriel Borkman starts previewsFeb. 15, 2007, opening Feb 20.
