Broadway stars Jackie Hoffman and Mark Blum headline Wendy Wasserstein's The Sisters Rosensweig at San Diego's Old Globe, starting July 15.

David Warren directs the work for the California stage which opens July 20 in the Old Globe Theatre for a run through Aug. 20.

The Sisters Rosensweig spans the course of one weekend in London where three Jewish-American Brooklynite sisters reunite to celebrate the 54th birthday of the eldest. During a party, the trio dish on former loves and share secrets. The work originally earned Madeline Kahn a Tony Award in 1993 for her turn in the cast which featured Jane Alexander and Christine Estabrook as the other sisters.

The San Diego cast of The Sisters Rosensweig features Janet Zarish (An Enemy of the People, Miss Julie) as Sara Goode, Jackie Hoffman (Hairspray, "Legally Blonde II") as Gorgeous Teitelbaum, Deirdre Lovejoy (Old Globe's Macbeth, The Comedy of Errors) as Pfeni Rosensweig, Stefanie Nava as Tess Goode, Mark Blum (Twelve Angry Men, Lost in Yonkers) as Mervyn Kant, Marty Lodge as Nicholas Pym, Tom Nelis (The Caine Mutiny Court Martial, Aida) as Geoffrey Duncan and Mark J. Sullivan as Tom Valiunus.

The design team includes Alexander Dodge (scenic), David Woolard (costume), Jeff Croiter (lighting) and Paul Peterson (sound). Bret Torbeck serves as stage manager.

Wasserstein's plays include Uncommon Women and Others, Isn’t It Romantic, An American Daughter, Old Money, Third and The Heidi Chronicles — she received a Tony Award and the Pulitzer Prize for the latter. Other works include the screenplay for "The Object of My Affection," the librettos for the original opera Festival of Regrets: Central Park and the new opera Best Friends as well as the musical adaptation of Pamela's First Musical with Cy Coleman.

Director Warren has staged the Broadway shows Holiday and Summer and Smokeand Off-Broadway's Misalliance, Rope, Hobson's Choice, Matt & Ben, Drumstruck, Barbra's Wedding, The Dazzle and Fiction among others.

Tickets for The Sisters Rosensweig are available by calling Globe Ticket Services at (619) 23-GLOBE or at the Globe Box Office, 1363 Old Globe Way in San Diego's Balboa Park. For more information, visit www.theoldglobe.org.
