Redux Productions has chosen actors bearing a striking resemblance to Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes for the Aug. 11-22 staging of Alexander Poe's I Was Tom Cruise as part of the New York International Fringe Festival.

Performances play the Connelly Theatre on East Fourth Street in the East Village.

Jeff Berg plays the Tom character and Amy Flanagan plays the Katie character. The cast also features Jeff Addiss, Gideon Banner, Jeff Berg, Teddy Bergman, Cormac Bluestone, Natasha David, Colby Disarro, Amy Flanagan, Victoria Haynes and Laura Perloe.

"I Was Tom Cruise tells the story of Frank and Paula, a young couple whose world is turned upside down when they're befriended by Tom Cruise while he's shooting a film in their building," according to production notes. "Taking Frank into his confidence, Tom presents him with a Faustian bargain that changes Frank's life forever. A comedy about the cult of celebrity and the dangers of getting everything you want."

Designers are Andrew Boyce (set) and Sarah Cubbage (costume).

Alexander Poe (writer/co-director) has directed productions at the Williamstown Theatre Festival Workshop as well as last year's Fringe success, Amerika, with co-director Joseph Varca (winner of the Fringe Award for Outstanding Ensemble).

Joseph Varca (co-director/designer) has composed original scores and designed set and lights that have been featured in the Redux productions Amerika, City of Glass, System Shock and Concentration City.

Redux Productions "is a company dedicated to creating new plays, both original and adapted" and was founded by Alexander Poe & Joseph Varca at Middlebury College. Together, they have produced adaptations of Albert Camus, J.G. Ballard, Paul Auster and a Tom Waits album.

Performances of I Was Tom Cruise play Aug. 11 at 7:15 PM, Aug. 15 at 3 PM, Aug. 18 at 5:15 PM, Aug. 20 at 4:30 PM, Aug. 22 at 7:30 PM.

Tickets are $15 and can be purchased online at www.FringeNYC.org or by calling (212) 279-4488 or (888) FringeNYC. For more information, visit www.reduxproductions.com.
