Nicholas Heck Replaces Exiting Logan Marshall-Green in Off-Broadway's Pig Farm

By Ernio Hernandez
08 Aug 2006

Nicholas Heck will assume the role of troubled farm hand Tim for the final three weeks of Roundabout Theatre Company’s run of Pig Farm. Current star Logan Marshall-Green leaves Aug. 13 for a television commitment.

No stranger to television, the "24" and "The O.C." veteran Marshall-Green appears in the ABC mid-season replacement "Traveler" opposite Viola Davis, who appeared in Roundabout's Off-Broadway run of Intimate Apparel.

John Rando (The Wedding Singer) directs the Roundabout Theatre Company world premiere co-presentation of his Urinetown collaborator Greg Kotis' Pig Farm. Previews began June 9 and the show opened June 27 at Off Broadway's Laura Pels Theatre for a limited engagement to Sept. 3.

Heck, seen on Broadway in Brooklyn Boy and Off-Broadway in Much Ado About Nothing, joins the current cast which features original stars John Ellison Conlee (The Full Monty), Katie Finneran (Noises Off) and Denis O'Hare (Take Me Out).

Conlee and Finneran star as a couple living on a struggling pig farm "somewhere in America" with their hired hand (Heck) when an Environmental Protection Agency officer (played by O'Hare) comes to inspect their operation.

Playwright Kotis and director Rando reteam following their previous collaboration on the Tony Award-winning Urinetown. Rando earned a 2002 Tony for Best Direction while Kotis received awards for Best Book and Best Original Score.

Tickets to Pig Farm at the Laura Pels Theatre, located at 111 West 46th Street will be available in the spring by calling Roundabout Ticket Services at (212) 719 1300. For more information, go online to www.roundabouttheatre.org.
