"Mamma Mia!, How Can I Resist You?" is scheduled to hit book stores in the U.S. and Canada Oct. 17. The 264-page hardback features recollections by ABBA founding members Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus and Mamma Mia! producer and creator Judy Craymer. Packed with photos from both ABBA and Mamma Mia!'s private archives, the book explores how the musical was created and how it then became an international smash.
Mamma Mia! employs the hit songs of famed pop group ABBA to tell the story of Sophie Sheridan, a young girl who hopes to discover the identity of her father. On the eve of her wedding, she brings three men from her mother Donna's past back to the Greek island they visited over two decades ago.
Mamma Mia! features music and lyrics by Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus, a book by Catherine Johnson, direction by Phyllida Lloyd and choreography by Anthony Van Laast. The musical plays the Cadillac Winter Garden Theatre, which is located in New York City at 1634 Broadway.
"Mamma Mia!, How Can I Resist You?: The Inside Story of Mamma Mia! and the Songs of ABBA" has a retail price of $29.95 ($38.95 in Canada).
