High Fidelity will follow Dirty Rotten Scoundrels into the Imperial Theatre. The new romantic musical comedy is scheduled to begin previews on Broadway Nov. 20 with an official opening Dec. 7.

As previously announced, the Tom Kitt/Amanda Green/David Lindsay-Abaire musical will play a pre-Broadway tryout at Boston's Colonial Theatre Sept. 26-Oct. 22.

High Fidelity follows the story of record store owner Rob (and constant Top 5 listmaker) who — when things in his current relationship go sour — revisits his former relationships to find out where he went wrong.

Jenn Colella will play Laura to Will Chase's Rob. The cast will also include Christian Anderson (Avenue Q, Rent) and Jay Klaitz (The Notebook at Manhattan Theatre Source) as music buffs/record store employees Dick and Barry, respectively. Katy Mixon ("The Quiet") portrays gal pal Liz and Emily Swallow (Measure For Pleasure, Orange Lemon Egg Canary), Kirsten Wyatt (Urinetown) and Anne Warren (Hairspray) play women from Rob's many failed romances with Jeb Brown (Ring of Fire, Aida) as neighbor Ian.

Jon Patrick Walker (White Liars and Black Comedy) is also featured in the ensemble with Justin Brill (All Shook Up), Andrew Call (Altar Boyz), Matt Caplan (Rent), Paul Castree, George Merrick, Tom Plotkin, Rachel Stern and J.B. Wing.

Walter Bobbie (Chicago, Sweet Charity) will direct the new Kitt, Green and Lindsay-Abaire musical take on the Nick Hornby novel. Jeffrey Seller, Robyn Goodman, Kevin McCollum — the team behind the 2004 Tony Award-winning musical Avenue Q — will produce the new work along with Live Nation, Roy Miller, Dan Markley, Jam Theatricals and Ruth Hendel.

Chase has starred on Broadway in Lennon, The Full Monty, Aida, Rent and Miss Saigon. His regional credits include roles in Assassins, Mame, Electra, Son of Fire, You’re Gonna Love Tomorrow and Trask & Fenn. He was also part of the star-studded concert version of The Secret Garden.

Colella scooted her boots on Broadway in the musical version of Urban Cowboy. The actress — who starred in the world premiere of the upcoming Broadway Twyla Tharp-Bob Dylan musical The Times They Are A-Changin' at San Diego's Old Globe — also appeared in The Great American Trailer Park Musical at the New York Musical Theatre Festival and Slut.

The 2000 film reset the Hornby story in Chicago (rather than England) and starred John Cusack, Jack Black, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Lisa Bonet, Tim Robbins and Lili Taylor. The musical will be set in New York's Brooklyn.

Playwright David Lindsay-Abaire (Rabbit Hole, Kimberly Akimbo, Fuddy Meers) penned the book with music by composer Tom Kitt (Laugh Whore, Debbie Does Dallas) and lyrics by Amanda Green (For the Love of Tiffany, Up The Creek Without A Paddle ).

Christopher Gattelli (Altar Boyz) will choreograph the musical. The design team for High Fidelity features Anna Louizos (set), Theresa Squire (costumes), Ken Billington (lighting) and Acme Sound Partners (sound).

Tickets for High Fidelity at the Colonial Theatre, 106 Boylston Street (near Tremont Street) in Boston, MA are available through Broadway Across America - Boston at (866) 523-7469. For more information, visit the website www.BroadwayAcrossAmerica.com.

On Broadway, High Fidelity will play Tuesday-Saturday evenings at 8 PM, with matinees Saturdays and Sundays at 2 PM. Tickets, priced $41.25-$111.25, are available by calling (212) 239-6200 or by visiting www.telecharge.com.
