Butley, a university professor, shares his office and his flat with his former star pupil. He must face the ultimate breakdown of his marriage and of his intense friendship with his roommate, all while entangled in petty university politics and unease about student dissent. Nathan Lane revisits the title role that he created in a critically acclaimed production that played at the Huntington Theatre in 2003.
