Sweeney's Felciano and Pajama's Lawrence to Be Part of Abramson Evening

By Andrew Gans
07 Sep 2006

Manoel Felciano and Megan Lawrence — who received 2006 Tony nominations for their performances in, respectively, Sweeney Todd and The Pajama Game — will be part of an upcoming concert spotlighting the work of composer Deborah Abramson.

Part of the Broadway at Birdland series, the Oct. 2 evening is simply titled The Songs of Deborah Abramson and will also boast the vocal talents of Sally Wilfert, Michael Winther and Theresa McCarthy. Show time is 7 PM.

Marco Paguia is the musical director for the performance, which will feature Abramson's music and the lyrics of William Finn, Rachel Sheinkin, Peter Mills, Amanda Yesnowitz and Nathan Tysen.

A composer and musical director, Deborah Abramson is a graduate of the NYU Musical Theatre Program. Her composing credits include Songs of Innocence and Experience (with William Finn), Marco Polo (with Peter Mills) and Seasick (with Judson Pearce Morgan). Abramson's musical director/associate musical director credits include Bernarda Alba, Dessa Rose, James Joyce's The Dead and My Life with Albertine.

Birdland is located in Manhattan at 315 West 44th Street. There is a $25 cover charge and a $10 food/drink minimum. Call (212) 581-3080 for reservations.
