Barbara Walsh and Aaron Lazar to Sing Trunk Songs Sept. 24

Barbara Walsh, who will be seen in the Broadway revival of Company, and recent Light in the Piazza star Aaron Lazar will lend their voices to the upcoming concert at the Laurie Beechman Theatre, Trunk Songs.

The Sept. 24 concert will feature new work from composers Ricky Ian Gordon (Dream True), Ben Moore (Ben Moore: 14 Songs) and Laurence O'Keefe (Legally Blonde). Show time is 7 PM.

The evening is presented by The Songbook Project, Inc., an organization dedicated to "the promotion of the art of live performance with a special focus on new and classic popular songs."

Barbara Walsh received Tony and Drama Desk nominations and the Los Angeles Ovation Award for her work as Trina in William Finn's Falsettos; her other Broadway credits include Hairspray, Big, Blood Brothers, Nine and Rock 'N Roll ! The First 5000 Years. Off-Broadway she has been seen in Normal, Forbidden Broadway and Birds of Paradise, and her regional credits include The Most Happy Fella, Houdini, Exactly Like You, A Streetcar Named Desire and Ragtime. Walsh's screen credits feature roles in "Life with Mikey" and "Law & Order." Walsh will play Joanne in this season's revival of Company.

On Broadway Aaron Lazar has been seen in The Light in the Piazza, The Phantom of the Opera and Oklahoma! and Off-Broadway in Hallelujah Baby!. He appeared in the London revival of On the Town as well as in the national tour of The Scarlet Pimpernel. His screen credits include "The Notorious Bettie Page," "One Man's Castle," "Johnny Moment," "The Poker Game," "Mahogany Pipe," "All My Children," "The Guiding Light" and "Empire." Lazar will play as Enjolras in the upcoming Broadway revival of Les Misérables.

The Laurie Beechman Theatre is located in Manhattan at 407 West 42nd Street at Ninth Avenue. There is an $18 cover charge and a $15 food-drink minimum; call (212) 695-6909 for reservations.
