There's No Business like "The Business of Show"; NYMF Seminar Set for Sept. 28

By Matt Windman
28 Sep 2006

"The Business of Show," the final seminar to be presented by the 2006 New York Musical Theatre Festival, will take place Sept. 28 at 6 PM at the Theatre at St. Clements, 423 West 46th Street.

The panelists will include Kris Stewart, NYMF founder and executive director; Beth Blickers, an agent at Abrams Artists Agency; Jeff Marx, co-writer of Avenue Q; David Spencer; a BMI professor; Jon Kimbell, North Shore Music Theatre's artistic director and executive producer; Jonathan C. Herzog, an entertainment lawyer; and Adam Epstein, Broadway producer of Hairspray and The Wedding Singer.

"Think writing your musical is a challenge? How do you craft a career that allows you to flex your creative muscles again and again? And earn recognition and a living from your work? The panel will reveal insider tips and strategies for building support for your work, getting your musicals produced, finding an agent, and building a track record that gets you noticed."
