Simpson, the 21-year-old sister of fellow recording artist Jessica, took over the role at the Cambridge Theatre on Sept. 25 for a five-week run, finishing Oct. 28.
The current production of Chicago opened at the Adelphi Theatre in 1997, winning the Olivier Award for Outstanding Musical Production. The show moved to the Cambridge Theatre this past April.
Onstage, Simpson joins Ian Kelsey as Billy Flynn, Amra-Faye Wright as Velma Kelly and Julian Sims as Amos Hart.
