For the second time, Patrick Swayze has extended his run in the London production of Guys and Dolls. Swayze will continue as Nathan Detroit until Nov. 25.

News of the extension coincides with the announcement that Samantha Janus, best known for her television appearances, will take on the role of Miss Adelaide. Janus also appeared in Peter Hall’s touring production of Betrayal.

The end-of-contract cast change, which takes effect from Oct. 16, also brings in Amy Nuttall (touring production of My Fair Lady) as Sarah Brown and Norman Bowman as Sky. Bowman previously played Harry the Horse with the original cast of Michael Grandage’s production.

Grandage's revival of Frank Loesser's classic musical opened at the Piccadilly Theatre on June 1, 2005, with Ewan McGregor and Jane Krakowski as Sky Masterson and Miss Adelaide. Swayze made his London stage debut in Guys and Dolls on July 27. The Hollywood star is best known for his movies "Ghost" and "Dirty Dancing." Onstage he played Billy Flynn in Chicago and Danny Zuko in Grease, both on Broadway.

The original Broadway production of Guys and Dolls opened at the 46th Street Theatre in November 1950, running for 1,200 performances before closing Nov. 28, 1953. Among the premiere cast were Robert Alda as Sky Masterson, Isabel Bigley as Sarah Brown, Sam Levene as Nathan Detroit and Vivian Blaine as Miss Adelaide. Blaine re-created her role for the 1955 film, which also starred Marlon Brando as Sky, Jean Simmons as Sarah Brown and Frank Sinatra as Nathan Detroit.
