Wedding Singer’s Maroulis Joins Night in Gotham Benefit

By Andrew Gans
03 Oct 2006

Constantine Maroulis, who recently joined the cast of Broadway’s The Wedding Singer, will be part of A Night in Gotham, the first annual benefit for the Gotham Stage Company.

As previously announced, Paige Davis — the "Trading Spaces" star who was most recently on Broadway in Chicago — will host the Oct. 9 concert at the Lucille Lortel Theatre, which will feature Gotham-inspired songs and scenes. Maroulis will join Kevin Cahoon, Megan Lawrence, Kevin Kern, Catherine Brunell, Zach Shaffer, Kimberly Stern and Bridget Everett as well as Gotham Stage Company members Katie Dietz, Julia Haubner, Betsy Werbel and Angela Lin for the 7 PM event.

A VIP reception will follow the performance at Franklin 54 Gallery, located at 181 Christopher Street.

A Brooklyn native, Constantine Maroulis is a graduate of both the Boston Conservatory and the Berklee College of Music. He trained as an apprentice at the Williamstown Theatre Festival and appeared as Roger in a tour of Rent. In addition to his performances on "American Idol," he has also been seen on "Law & Order: SVU" and in several independent films. Maroulis also played a recent engagement at the Public Theater's Joe's Pub.

Tickets are priced $75 (performance only) and $150 (performance and post-show reception) and are available by calling (212) 279-4200 or by visiting www.ticketcentral.com.

The Lucille Lortel Theatre is located in Manhattan at 121 Christopher Street.

GSC is committed to maintaining a safe haven for actors, playwrights, directors, producers, and designers to further develop their crafts while also giving back to our community."

The upcoming season will include Eric Houston's Becoming Adele (Dec. 14, 2006-Jan. 6, 2007) and Randall David Cook's In a Town Called Faith (spring 2007).
