"Eartha Kitt: Live from the Café Carlyle" Due in Stores Oct. 17

DRG Records, a division of Koch Records, has just released the latest recording from stage and screen veteran Eartha Kitt, who is currently co-starring Off-Broadway in Mimi Le Duck.
Entitled "Eartha Kitt: Live from the Café Carlyle," the 17-track disc was recorded during Kitt's 2006 engagement at the famed Manhattan cabaret. The celebrated singing actress is backed by Daryl Waters on piano, Brian Grice on drums, Tony Cintron on percussion, Joe Friedman on guitar and Calvin Jones on bass. Hugh Fordin produced the recording.

A world-renowned concert artist and actress, Eartha Kitt has appeared on Broadway in Bal Negre, Leonard Silliman's New Faces of 1952, Mrs. Patterson, Shinbone Alley, Jolly's Progress, Timbuktu!, The Wild Party and Nine. She received her first Tony nomination for her performance in Timbuktu! and her second for her work in The Wild Party. Kitt's screen credits are numerous, including the 1965 drama "I Spy," for which she was nominated for an Emmy Award. Her autobiography is entitled "I'm Still Here: Confessions of a Sex Kitten."
