Lili Taylor Cast in Public Theater Reading of Celebrity Row

Lili Taylor will appear in a reading of Itamar Moses' play Celebrity Row on Nov. 2 at 8:30 PM as part of the Public Theater's New Work Now! festival.

Taylor will play the role of Maze Carroll in the reading, which is directed by the Public's artistic director, Oskar Eustis. The reading will also star Richard Montoya, Paul Spark, Firdous Bamji and Arliss Howard as Ted Kaczynski.

Taylor is a well-known film actress whose credits include "High Fidelity," "I Shot Andy Warhol," "Say Anything," "Girls Town" "The Addiction," "Pret-A-Porter," "Mrs. Parker and the Vicious Circle," "Rudy," "Say Anything," "Mystic Pizza," "Factotum" and the television series "Six Feet Under," for which she received an Emmy nomination. She also has many stage credits, including Three Sisters on Broadway, plus Halcion Days, Mud, What Did He See, Aven U Boys, Aunt Dan and Lemon and the Signature Theatre's production of Landscape of the Body earlier this year.

A release bills the play as follows: "Colorado Supermax is the most secure prison in the United States. When Latin Kings leader Luis Felipe is transferred there, civil liberties attorney Maze Carroll attacks his sentence as unconstitutional. But Felipe and his new neighbors — Ted Kaczynski, Timothy McVeigh, and Ramzi Yousef — have other ideas about how to use her assistance."

After Celebrity Row, the festival — which began Oct. 23 — will finish with Winter Miller's untitled Darfur play on Nov. 3, Betty Shamieh's Again and Against: The Art of Hoping Indefinitely and a sneak preview of the New York Arab-American Comedy Festival at Joe's Pub on Nov. 4, and A.R. Gurney's O Jerusalem on Nov. 6.
