Clean House Playwright and Cast to Take Part in Nov. 15 Platform Series

By Andrew Gans
08 Nov 2006

Lincoln Center Theater's Platform Series, which offers free discussions between LCT artists and theatregoers, will kick off its 2006-2007 season Nov. 15.

The 6 PM pre-performance talk will be held in the lobby of the Vivian Beaumont Theater and will feature The Clean House playwright Sarah Ruhl and the show's cast, including Vanessa Aspillaga, Blair Brown, Jill Clayburgh, John Dossett and Concetta Tomei. The Platform Series is scheduled to begin at 6 PM.

Seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis, beginning at 5:30 PM. Because speakers and schedules are subject to change, it is suggested those planning to attend call (212) 362-7600 on the day of the event to confirm.

Since its premiere at Yale Rep in New Haven in 2004, The Clean House has been seen at The Wilma Theater in Philadelphia, the Woolly Mammoth Theatre in Washington, D.C., Chicago's Goodman Theatre, Milwaukee Rep, Denver Center Theater Company, Cincinnati Playhouse and San Francisco's TheatreWorks.

Ruhl's work, about a well-ordered household that is turned upside down when an interesting new maid arrives, was a 2005 Pulitzer Prize finalist. It won the 2004 Susan Smith Blackburn Prize.

The Vivian Beaumont Theater is located at 150 West 65th Street.
