Ian McShane to Have Broadway Homecoming

By Andrew Gans
14 Nov 2006

Ian McShane, recently seen in the HBO series "Deadwood," will make his first Broadway appearance in four decades in a revival of The Homecoming.

The New York Times reports that Daniel Sullivan will direct the Pinter revival, which is scheduled to begin rehearsals in October 2007. No theatre has been announced at this time.

Jeffrey Richards and Jerry Frankel — the producing team behind the revivals of Glengarry Glen Ross and The Caine Mutiny Court-Martial — will produce the Homecoming revival.

British actor Ian McShane made his Broadway debut in 1967 in The Promise, which remains his one Broadway credit. He worked on the London stage in the sixties in such productions as Joe Orton's Loot and, more recently, in the original cast of the musical The Witches of Eastwick. His numerous screen credits include "Deadwood," "Villain," "Sexy Beast" and "Lovejoy."

Harold Pinter is also the author of The Caretaker, Betrayal, The Room, Ashes to Ashes and Celebration.
