Deborah Lew and Stephen R. Buntrock will become Broadway's new Belle and Gaston, respectively, in the long-running Disney musical Beauty and the Beast.

Lew and Buntrock will join the cast Dec. 26, following the departures of Sarah Uriarte Berry and Donny Osmond. Berry and Osmond play their final performances in the musical at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre Dec. 24.

Deborah Lew made her Broadway debut in the recent revival of The Threepenny Opera. Her other New York theatre credits include Candide and Cinderella as well as the Off-Broadway musical Cupid and Psyche. Lew received a Joseph Jefferson Award nomination for her work as Maria in a regional production of West Side Story and has also appeared in productions of Amour and Miss Saigon.

On Broadway Stephen R. Buntrock has been seen in Oklahoma!, Titanic, Jane Eyre, Les Misérables and The Phantom of the Opera. His touring credits include Martin Guerre, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat and The Phantom of the Opera. Buntrock received a Joseph Jefferson nomination for his work in Miss Saigon. His screen credits include "All My Children" and "Antietam."

Beauty and the Beast is "the classic love story of Belle, a young woman in a small, provincial town, and the Beast, who is really a prince trapped in a spell placed on him by an enchantress. If the Beast can learn to love and to be loved, the spell will be broken and he will be transformed back to his former self. But time is running out, and if the Beast does not learn his lesson soon, he will be doomed for all eternity."

Featuring a score by Alan Menken, Tim Rice and the late Howard Ashman, Beauty and the Beast boasts a book by the author of the original screenplay, Linda Woolverton; the musical was directed by Robert Jess Roth.

Tickets may be purchased at the Lunt-Fontanne box office (205 W. 46th Street) or by calling (212) 307-4747. For more information, visit Walt Disney Theatricals on-line at www.disneyonbroadway.com.
