Emily Mann's Still Life Gets 25th Anniversary Revival at 78th Street

By Zachary Pincus-Roth
23 Jan 2007

Emily Mann's play Still Life will get a revival at 78th Street Theatre Lab from Feb. 16-March 3 in honor of the play's 25th anniversary, presented by Retro Productions.

Ric Sechrest will direct a cast that includes Heather E. Cunningham, Erik Potempa and Kristen Vaughan.

According to press notes, the play "tells the painful story of Mark, a former Marine, his estranged wife Cheryl and his mistress Nadine - all doing what they can to survive the dark and disturbing memories which plague him; flashbacks which often cause Mark to lash out in anger."

Mann is the artistic director of the McCarter Theatre and is the author of Annlla Allen: Autobiography of a Survivor, Greensboro (A Requiem), Execution of Justice and Having Our Say.

Retro Productions, according to press notes, presents works of "retro theatre" and "strives to tell good theatrical stories which have an historical perspective — with an emphasis on the 20th century — in order to broaden our own understanding of the world we live in."

The 78th Street Theatre Lab is located at 236 West 78th Street. For reservations call (212) 352-3101.
