Berry, Lazar, Noll, Panaro and Walsh Will Sing Broadway Musicals of 1938

By Andrew Gans
12 Feb 2007

The line-up of artists taking part in the The Broadway Musicals of 1938 concert has been announced.

Part of Scott Siegel's acclaimed Broadway By the Year series, the March 26 concert will boast the talents of Sarah Uriarte Berry, Aaron Lazar, Christiane Noll, Hugh Panaro and Barbara Walsh. Side Show Tony nominee Emily Skinner will direct; show time is 8 PM.

Concertgoers can expect to hear songs from such 1938 musicals as The Cradle Will Rock, I Married An Angel, Hellzapoppin', Knickerbocker Holiday, Leave It to Me and The Boys From Syracuse. Song titles will include "September Song," "It Never Was You," "Falling in Love with Love," "This Can’t Be Love" and "Spring Is Here."

In a statement creator-host Siegel said, "I’m excited about presenting Broadway’s music from 1938. The music could not be more eclectic, from the famous political show The Cradle Will Rock to the classic Rodgers & Hart score from The Boys From Syracuse. Toss in the nutty Olsen & Johnson hit Hellzapoppin' and the sentimental classic Knickerbocker Holiday, and you’ve got something for just about every taste — and all of it top notch."

Tickets, priced $45 and $40, are available by calling (212) 307-4100 or by visiting www.ticketmaster.com. Town Hall is located at 123 West 43rd Street. For more information visit www.the-townhall-nyc.org.
