Tarzan's Gambatese Hosts Feb. 19 New Voices

The third season of the acclaimed Monday Nights, New Voices series continues Feb. 19 at the Duplex Cabaret Theatre.

Jenn Gambatese, who stars in the new Disney musical Tarzan, hosts the evening, which features the talents of Matthew John Kacergis, Reymundo Santiago, Nicholas Rodriguez, Christy Morton, Anna Bergman and Alysha Umphress. Show time is 7 PM.

Jeff Blumenkrantz, who received a Tony nomination for his contributions to the score of Urban Cowboy, is the evening's guest composer and will accompany the singers on selections from his songbook. Barbara Anselmi is the musical director.

Composer Scott Alan launched the Monday Nights, New Voices series to "showcase some of today's brightest new talent in New York."

Jenn Gambatese currently plays Jane in Disney's Tarzan. She portrayed both Natalie Haller and Ed in All Shook Up and has also been seen on Broadway in Footloose, Hairspray and A Year with Frog and Toad. Gambatese was also part of Off-Broadway's Reefer Madness and both the European and North American tours of Fame.

Jeff Blumenkrantz received a 2003 Tony Award nomination for the songs he contributed to Urban Cowboy, The Musical. He contributed a song to Audra McDonald's "Seven Deadly Sins" concert at Carnegie Hall as well as a tune to the Transport Group's production of The Audience. His songs have been performed by McDonald, Megan Mullally and Judy Kuhn. As an actor, Blumenkrantz appeared in the Broadway productions of Into the Woods, 3 Penny Opera, Damn Yankees, How to Succeed in Business without Really Trying and A Class Act.
