During its annual hiatus from the 47th Street Theatre, the New York production of Forbidden Broadway: Special Victims Unit will play a limited run at Chicago's Royal George Theatre.
Under the terms of its rental agreement, Forbidden Broadway must vacate the 47th Street Theatre ten weeks each spring to allow The Puerto Rican Traveling Theatre the opportunity to play a New York engagement. This season, Forbidden Broadway will use the hiatus to play Chicago's Royal George Theatre. Performances, featuring the New York cast, will begin April 19.
The New York company currently features Jared Bradshaw, Jeanne Montano, Valerie Fagan and Michael West with David Caldwell on piano.
Created, written and co-directed by Alessandrini, the creative team also includes Phillip George (co-director), Alvin Colt (costume designer), Megan K. Halpern (set designer) and Marc Janowitz (lighting designer).
Forbidden Broadway: Special Victims Unit plays Mondays, Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 8:15 PM and Sundays at 7:30 PM with matinees on Wednesdays at 2:30 PM, Saturdays at 4 PM and Sundays at 3 PM. Tickets, priced $60-$65, are available by calling (212) 239-6200.
The 47th Street Theatre is located at 304 West 47th Street, between Eighth and Ninth Avenues.
