Buscemi, Bon Jovi, Sigler, Rockwell, Perabo, Quinn Join Imperioli for Studio Dante Benefit Honoring Voight

By Zachary Pincus-Roth
21 Mar 2007

Steve Buscemi, Jon Bon Jovi, Sam Rockwell, Jamie-Lynn Sigler, Aidan Quinn and Piper Perabo will read two new short plays at a benefit for the theatre company Studio Dante at the New York Historical Society on March 26. The event, titled First Readings: A Benefit For Studio Dante, will also honor Jon Voight.

Michael Imperioli — the Emmy-winning star of "The Sopranos" and Studio Dante's co-artistic director with his wife Victoria Imperioli — will introduce the plays, which are by Mike Dowling and Adam Szymkowicz. A live auction will be led by Imperioli's "Sopranos" co-star Steve Schirripa. Professor Richard Brown of the AMC series "Movies 101" will present the tribute to Voight.

The event is presented by Architectural Digest, which has featured Victoria Imperioli's work as a designer.

Sigler is a regular on "The Sopranos," and Buscemi, the famed character actor in films such as "Fargo," was a regular on the show for a stretch until his character was killed off. Voight won an Oscar for "Coming Home" and was nominated for three others. The rock star Bon Jovi has acted in TV series such as "Ally McBeal" and in films.

Quinn appeared on Broadway in A Streetcar Named Desire and has appeared in films such as "Legends of the Fall." Rockwell has appeared in films such as "Confessions of a Dangerous Mind" and plays such as The Last Days of Judas Iscariot. Perabo has appeared in films such as "The Prestige" and "Coyote Ugly."

Imperioli currently stars in the Studio Dante play Chicken, which runs through April 7.

The New York Historical Society is located at 170 Central Park West at 77th Street. For tickets call (800) 207-1898 or email firstreadings@studiodante.com. For more information on the theatre visit www.studiodante.com.
