26 Mar 2007

Stephen Bogardus (Falsettos), Will Chase (High Fidelity), Lillias White (The Life), Stephanie D'Abruzzo (Avenue Q) and Ashley Parker Angel (Hairspray) star in the More Unauthorized Musicology of Ben Folds concert March 26 at 7 PM at the Zipper Theatre.

The concert played the New York Musical Theatre Festival in 2006 and will be presented as part of the NYMF's spring concert series.

Recently added to the cast are Annie Golden (The Full Monty), Alan Campbell (Sunset Boulevard) and Lisa Howard (The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee). Also performing are Manoel Felciano (Sweeney Todd), Greg Naughton (Alive in the World), Chip Zien (Falsettos), Kevyn Morrow (Ragtime), Bob Stillman (Grey Gardens), Michael Arden (The Times They Are A Changin'), J. Robert Spencer (Jersey Boys), Michael Winther (Mamma Mia!) and Liz McCartney (Taboo).

Felicia Finley (The Wedding Singer) and "American Idol" contestant-turned-theatre star Constantine Maroulis (The Wedding Singer) were announced for the concert but are no longer performing.

The concert is directed by Jess McLeod (NYMF’s associate director of programming), with music direction by Brian J. Nash.

Other previously announced events in the NYMF concert series include Broadway Idol winner Jac Huberman's concert on May 8 and 13 at Ars Nova, Broadway Battle of the Bands on May 18 and Undercover Showtunes on June 18.

Started in 2004, NYMF typically presents around 30 or so musicals and many other events in New York City every fall. This year's festival will be held Sept. 17-Oct. 7.

The Zipper Theatre is located at 336 West 37th Street. For more information call (212) 352-3101 or visit www.nymf.org.
