By Andrew Gans
27 Mar 2007

Margaret Vermette's new book, "The Musical World of Boublil and Schönberg," which is scheduled for an official release May 15, is already available in stores.

Vermette conducted extensive interviews with the composers best known for the international hit musicals Les Misérables and Miss Saigon. In the forthcoming book, Alain Boublil and Claude-Michel Schönberg also discuss their first musical collaboration, La Révolution Française, as well as Martin Guerre and their newest Broadway musical, The Pirate Queen.

The 408-page book also features interviews with co-writers Herbert Kretzmer, Richard Maltby, Stephen Clark and John Dempsey; directors Trevor Nunn, John Caird, Nicholas Hytner, Conall Morrison and Frank Galati; and producers Cameron Mackintosh, Moya Doherty and John McColgan. A "Fact File" is also part of the biography and features plot synopsis, cast, creative team, reviews, awards, recordings and trivia about Boublil and Schönberg musical productions worldwide.

Author Margaret Vermette resides in West Sussex, England, and writes articles and reviews for "Musical Stages," "Stagestar" and "South East Dance."

"The Musical World of Boublil and Schönberg," which has a retail price of $19.95, also boasts 48 pages of color photographs.
