The Tony Award-winning musical Monty Python's Spamalot officially opens its Las Vegas run March 31 with John O'Hurley on the throne.

The Nevada run began performances March 8 at Wynn Las Vegas' Grail Theatre.

O'Hurley — who recently made his Broadway debut in Chicago and is known to television audiences for "Seinfeld" and "Dancing with the Stars" — stars as King Arthur. Joining him in the cast are Nikki Crawford (The Ten Commandments) as The Lady of the Lake, Justin Brill (All Shook Up) as Patsy, Harry Bouvy (The Producers tour) as Sir Robin, J. Anthony Crane (Modern Orthodox) as Sir Lancelot, Randal Keith (Les Misérables) as Sir Bedevere, Edward Staudenmayer (Forbidden Broadway Cleans Up Its Act) as Sir Galahad and Steven Strafford (Naked Will) as Prince Herbert.

The ensemble cast includes Carol Bentley, Richard Costa, Nikki Della Penta, Mika Duncan, Semhar Ghebremichael, Ashley Hull, Bryan Lefeber, Jeff McLean, Robert Moffat, Keewa Nurullah, Michael O'Donnell, Candy Olsen, Victoria Pence, Billy Sprague, Jr., Julie Taber, Kevin Worley and Carmen Yurich.

Mike Nichols ("The Graduate," "Angels in America") directed and Casey Nicholaw (The Drowsy Chaperone) choreographed the show inspired by the 1975 feature film comedy "Monty Python and the Holy Grail."

Spamalot tells the tale of King Arthur and his Knights of the Round Table on their quest from God for the Holy Grail — with a short stop in the dazzling Spam-filled land of Camelot.

The musical features a book by Eric Idle based on the screenplay he co-wrote with Monty Python creators Graham Chapman, John Cleese, Terry Gilliam, Terry Jones and Michael Palin. The new score — with music and lyrics by Idle and composer John Du Prez ("A Fish Called Wanda") — includes songs ("Brave Sir Robin" and "Knights of the Round Table") from the original film as well as the Python signature "Always Look on the Bright Side of Life."

Spamalot took home prizes at the 2005 Tony Awards for Best Musical, Best Direction (Nichols) and Best Featured Actress (Sara Ramirez). The original Decca Broadway cast album earned the 2006 Grammy Award for Best Musical Show Album.

The national tour of Spamalot recently extended its performances across the country through October, and the show continues on Broadway at the Shubert Theatre and in London at the Palace Theatre. Next up, a run at Her Majesty's Theatre in Melbourne, Australia, will begin in November.

Tickets for the Vegas run of Spamalot at the Grail Theatre in the Wynn Las Vegas resort, located at 3131 Las Vegas Blvd. South, can be purchased by calling (702) 770 WYNN or toll-free at (888) 320-7110.
