Jason Patric and Ron Livingston, best known for their work on screen, will head to the stage in May to co-star in Neil LaBute's In a Dark Dark House for MCC Theater.

Performances will begin at Off-Broadway's Lucille Lortel Theatre May 16 with an official opening June 7. The production, directed by Carolyn Cantor, will run through June 23. A third cast member will be announced shortly.

In a Dark Dark House is described thusly: "On the grounds of a private psychiatric facility, two family members find themselves brought face to face with each other's involvement in their traumatic past. In court-ordered rehab, Drew calls on his brother, Terry, to corroborate his story of abuse. Drew's request releases barely-hidden animosities between the two; is he using these repressed memories to save himself while smearing the name of his brother's friend and mentor? In Neil LaBute's powerful new play, these siblings must struggle to come to grips with their troubled legacy, both inside and outside their dark family home."

The design team includes Beowulf Boritt (scenic design), Jenny Mannis (costume design), Ben Stanton (lighting design) and Rob Kaplowitz (music and sound design).

Jason Patric made his Broadway debut in the 2003 revival of Cat on a Hot Tin Roof. Patric has starred in such films as "The Lost Boys," "After Dark, My Sweet," "Rush" and "Your Friends and Neighbors."

Ron Livingston’s screen credits include "Standoff," "Holly," "Relative Strangers," "The Life Coach," "Little Black Book," "Sex and the City," "The Cooler" and "Office Space."

Neil LaBute's plays include bash: latter-day plays, The Shape of Things, The Distance From Here, The Mercy Seat, Autobahn, This Is How It Goes, Some Girls and Wrecks. He is the writer-director of the films "In the Company of Men," "Your Friends and Neighbors," "Nurse Betty," "Possession," "The Shape of Things" and "Wicker Man."

The performance schedule for In a Dark Dark House will be Tuesday and Wednesday evenings at 7 PM, Thursday-Saturday nights at 8 PM with matinees Saturdays at 2 PM and Sundays at 3 PM.

Now in its 21st season, MCC Theater is "committed to presenting New York and world premieres each season." When MCC Theater was founded in 1986, its mission was "to bring new theatrical voices to theatregoing audiences. MCC Theater continues to accomplish this yearly through presentation of its mainstage works; its literary program, which actively seeks and develops new and emerging writers and its education and outreach program, allowing more than 1,200 students yearly to experience theater, increase literacy and discover their own voices in the arts."
