Italian + Jewish = Therapy to Transfer to the Westside Theatre

By Andrew Gans
10 Apr 2007

Steve Solomon's one-man comedy My Mother's Italian, My Father's Jewish & I'm in Therapy!, which opened at the Little Shubert Theatre Dec. 8, 2006, will transfer to Off-Broadway's Westside Theatre in May.

Performances will begin at the Westside Theatre Downstairs May 4; the show will continue at the Little Shubert through April 29.

"The Jews have always been a nomadic people and the Italians don't like to stray too far from the old neighborhood, so I suppose it was inevitable that we'd be moving to a new theatre just one block away," Solomon joked in a statement. "We are so thrilled with audiences' response to this show. We initially planned to run for only 12 weeks at The Little Shubert Theatre. We extended the run twice, but due to popular demand, we have decided that our show will no longer be a limited-engagement. We look forward to continuing our open-ended run at out new home at the Westside Theatre."

Italian + Jewish = Therapy, according to press notes, "relate to the wacky side of the human condition, combining comic voices, sound effects and astounding characters — bringing alive a myriad of people from all walks of life."

The Westside Theatre is located in Manhattan at 407 West 43rd Street. The Little Shubert is located at 422 West 42nd Street. Tickets for both venues are available by calling (212) 239-6200 or by visiting www.telecharge.com.
