Singin' in the Rain, which launched the 2007 Goodspeed Musicals season on April 20, has been extended one week through July 6, at the Goodspeed Opera House.

Executive director Michael P. Price stated, "It's rare to extend a musical so early in the run, but tickets are selling so fast we wanted to make sure that everyone has an opportunity to see Singin' in the Rain."

The show is based on the classic M-G-M film with original choreography by Gene Kelly and Stanley Donen and a screenplay by Betty Comden and Adolph Green. Songs are by Nacio Herb Brown and Arthur Freed.

The opening is May 16.

Tickets are $25-$66. Performances are Wednesdays at 2 and 7:30 PM; Thursdays at 7:30 PM; Fridays at 8 PM; Saturdays at 3 and 8 PM; and Sundays at 2 PM. Select performances on Thursdays at 2 PM and Sunday evenings at 6:30 PM. Added performances are June 26 and July 3 at 7:30 PM, July 6 at 8 PM and July 3, 4, 5 and 6 at 2 PM.

For a complete schedule and tickets call the box office at (860) 873-8668, or visit www.goodspeed.org.

Dedicated to the preservation and advancement of musical theatre, Goodspeed Musicals produces three musicals each season at the Goodspeed Opera House in East Haddam, CT, and additional shows at The Norma Terris Theatre in Chester, CT, which was opened in 1984 for the development of new musicals.

It's the only regional theatre to receive two Tony Awards (for outstanding achievement), Goodspeed also maintains The Scherer Library of Musical Theatre and The Max Showalter Center for Education in the Musical Theater.
