Broadway's current Best Musical Tony Award winner Jersey Boys will reach Las Vegas early next year at the new Palazzo Resort Hotel Casino.

"With advance ticket sales over $30 million on Broadway, we are confident that visitors from all over the world will come to see what is currently the hottest ticket on Broadway," said Palazzo president Rob Goldstein in a statement. "Jersey Boys appeals to a wide range of audiences, beyond the traditional theatergoer."

The show is slated to open in the new Nevada venue in early 2008. The Palazzo resort is currently being built by Las Vegas Sands Corp in the heart of the Strip. It will neighbor the company's Venetian and Sands Expo and Convention Center.

Director Des McAnuff (The Who's Tommy, Big River) will reteam with the Broadway creative team — including choreographer Sergio Trujillo — for the new run.

No casting has been announced for the Las Vegas production.

Jersey Boys re-creates the story of American pop group The Four Seasons — the highs, the lows and all in between — on stage in the musical with the help of their hits "Sherry," "Big Girls Don't Cry," "Walk Like a Man," "December 1963 (Oh, What A Night)" and more.

The show began previews on Broadway Oct. 4, 2005, and officially opened at the August Wilson Theatre Nov. 6. The original Broadway cast recording is available on Rhino Records.

The first national tour launched from San Francisco's Curran Theatre and is also scheduled to stop at Los Angeles' Ahmanson Theatre (May 25-Aug. 5) before heading to Chicago's LaSalle Bank Theatre (starting Oct. 6). Producers just announced that the show will employ a second touring company. Future stops include Tempe, San Diego, Costa Mesa, Seattle, Houston, Tampa, Minneapolis and Cleveland. (Check jerseyboystour.com for more information.)

Jersey Boys features music by Bob Gaudio, lyrics by Bob Crewe and a book by Marshall Brickman & Rick Elice. The production garnered four Tony Award wins: for stars John Lloyd Young and Christian Hoff, lighting designer Howell Binkley and for the top prize, Best Musical.

Dodger Theatricals, Joseph J. Grano, Tamara and Kevin Kinsella, Pelican Group, in association with Latitude Link and Rick Steiner/Oshen/Staton/Bell/Mayerson Group produce. The musical made its debut at the La Jolla Playhouse in October 2004.

The design team includes Klara Zieglerova (scenic), Jess Goldstein (costume), Howell Binkley (lighting), Steve Canyon Kennedy (sound), Michael Clark (projections) and Charles LaPointe (wig and hair). Steve Orich provides orchestrations, and Ron Melrose handles music direction, vocal arrangements and incidental music.
