Ghostlight Records, a division of Sh-K-Boom Records, releases the original Broadway cast recording of the short-lived musical High Fidelity May 15.

The single CD was produced by Grammy winner Joel Moss and Sh-K-Boom/Ghostlight President Kurt Deutsch. The recording features the original Broadway company, including Will Chase and Jenn Colella.

Following a world premiere at Boston's Colonial Theatre, High Fidelity began previews on Broadway Nov. 20, 2006, and opened Dec. 7. The musical closed at the Imperial Theatre Dec. 17.

Walter Bobbie (Chicago, Sweet Charity) directed with choreography by Christopher Gattelli (Altar Boyz). Jeffrey Seller, Kevin McCollum, Robyn Goodman produced the new work along with Live Nation, Roy Miller, Dan Markley, Ruth Hendel/Dazansky Partners and Jam Theatricals.

The complete track listing for "High Fidelity: A Musical (the record)" follows:
"The Last Real Record Store on Earth"
"Desert Island Top 5 Break-Ups"
"It's No Problem"
"She Goes"
"Ian's Here"
"Number 5 with a Bullet"
"Ready to Settle"
"Nine Percent Chance"
"I Slept With Someone (Who Slept with Lyle Lovett)"
"I Slept With Someone (Who Handled Kurt Cobain's Intervention)"
"I Slept With Someone (reprise)"
"Cryin' in the Rain"
"Conflict Resolution"
"Goodbye and Good Luck"
"It's No Problem (reprise)"
"Laura, Laura"
"Turn the World Off (and Turn You On)"
Bonus Track: "Too Tired"

High Fidelity, according to press notes, "tells the story of Rob, a record store owner who knows almost everything there is to know about pop music, but almost nothing about how to hold on to a girl. Rob's love life, already a broken record of heartache, falls off the charts completely when he gets dumped by Laura....but that just sets him up for one of the top 5 romantic comebacks ever."

Playwright David Lindsay-Abaire (Rabbit Hole, Kimberly Akimbo, Fuddy Meers) penned the book with music by composer Tom Kitt (Laugh Whore, Debbie Does Dallas) and lyrics by Amanda Green (For the Love of Tiffany, Up The Creek Without A Paddle).

Colella played the recently estranged girlfriend Laura to Chase's Rob. The cast also included Christian Anderson (Avenue Q, Rent) and Jay Klaitz (The Notebook at Manhattan Theatre Source) as music buffs/record store employees Dick and Barry, respectively. Rachel Stern (Tarzan) portrayed gal pal Liz, while Emily Swallow (Measure For Pleasure, Orange Lemon Egg Canary), Caren Lyn Manuel (Rent, Brooklyn), Kirsten Wyatt (Urinetown) and Anne Warren (Hairspray) played women from Rob's many failed romances. Jeb Brown (Ring of Fire, Aida) appeared as neighbor Ian.

Jon Patrick Walker (White Liars and Black Comedy) was also featured in the ensemble with Justin Brill (All Shook Up), Andrew C. Call (Altar Boyz), Matt Caplan (Rent), Paul Castree, George Merrick, Tom Plotkin and J.B. Wing.

Adam Ben-David served as the music director, Michael Keller was music coordinator and Alex Lacamoire handled music supervision. Kitt and Lacamoire provided orchestrations while Stephen Oremus supplied vocal arrangements.

The song list included "9% Chance of Your Love," "She Goes," "Desert Island Top 5 Break-Ups" and "#5 With a Bullet." The 2000 film reset the Hornby story in Chicago (rather than England) and starred John Cusack, Jack Black, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Lisa Bonet, Tim Robbins and Lili Taylor. The Broadway musical is set in New York's Brooklyn.
