Despite garnering six 2007 Tony Award nominations — including one for Best Revival of a Play — the current production of R.C. Sherriff's 1929 war play, Journey's End, will end its run at the Belasco Theatre in June.

A spokesperson for the production confirmed to Playbill.com that the acclaimed Broadway revival of the riveting drama will play its final performance June 10, having played 15 previews and 125 regular performances.

Directed by David Grindley, who also helmed the successful 2004 London revival, Journey's End began previews at the Belasco Feb. 8 and officially opened Feb. 22. Despite garnering mostly rave reviews, the production has struggled at the box office.

The play, based on Sherriff's own experiences in the First World War, is about a group of British soldiers living together in a cramped trench in France while fighting the last great German offensive in March 1918. The cast features Boyd Gaines, Jefferson Mays, Hugh Dancy and Stark Sands as well as John Ahlin, Nick Berg Barnes, John Behlmann, Justin Blanchard, Kieran Campion, John Curless and Richard Poe.

The design team includes Jonathan Fensom (scenic and costume design), Jason Taylor (lighting) and Gregory Clarke (sound).

The producers are Boyett/Ostar Productions, Stephanie McClelland, Bill Rollnick, James D'Orta and Philip Geier.

Journey's End received 2007 Tony nominations for Best Revival of a Play, Best Performance By a Leading Actor in a Play (Boyd Gaines), Best Performance By a Featured Actor in a Play (Stark Sands), Best Direction of a Play (David Grindley), Best Scenic Design of a Play (Jonathan Fensom) and Best Lighting Design of a Play (Jason Taylor).

Journey's End premiered on Broadway in 1929 and ran 485 performances. It was revived for a short Broadway run in 1939.

Grindley's U.K. directing credits include Abigail’s Party and What the Butler Saw at the Hampstead Theatre, National Anthems for Kevin Spacey's Old Vic Company and Some Girls with David Schwimmer at the Gielgud.

The Belasco Theatre is located in Manhattan at 111 West 44th Street between 6th and 7th Avenues. For tickets call Telecharge at (212) 239-6200 or visit www.telecharge.com.
