American actor Maxwell Caulfield will make his West End stage debut as Billy Flynn in the long-running London production of Chicago.

Caulfield, who is best known for his appearances in the glitzy television soaps "Dynasty" and "The Colbys," will take to the Cambridge Theatre's stage May 29 for a five-week run. Caulfield's recent New York theatre credits include Tryst, My Deah and Our Leading Lady.

Chicago currently stars Josefina Gabrielle as Roxie Hart, Amra-Faye Wright as Velma Kelly, Matthew Lloyd Davies as Amos Hart, Susie McKenna as Mama Morton and Michael Simkins as Billy Flynn.

The hit production, which opened at the Adelphi Theatre on Nov. 18, 1997, moved to the Cambridge Theatre in April 2006. It was at the Cambridge Theatre that the first production of Chicago opened on April 10, 1979, running for 603 performances.

The John Kander (music) and Fred Ebb (lyrics) musical premiered on Broadway in 1975, features the songs "All That Jazz" and "Mister Cellophane" and a book by Ebb and Bob Fosse. The long-running Tony-winning revival currently plays New York's Ambassador Theatre.

For more information about the London company of Chicago, which is booking until Oct. 6, call (0)870 890 1102.
