The acclaimed, Olivier-winning, Michael Grandage-directed production of Guys and Dolls, which was presented by the Donmar Warehouse at London's Piccadilly Theatre, will arrive on Broadway in 2008.

A casting notice reveals that the Frank Loesser musical will begin previews at a theatre to be announced in February 2008 with an official opening the following month. Rob Ashford, who choreographed the London revival, will repeat his work on Broadway. The Ambassador Theatre Group is producing.

According to the notice, the casting director is "seeking performers of all cultural backgrounds for all roles." The casting notice is seeking actors for the principal roles of Adelaide, Sarah Brown, Sky Masterson, Nathan Detroit, Nicely Nicely Johnson, Benny Southstreet, Arvide Abernathy, Lt. Brannigan, General Cartwright, Harry the Horse and Big Jule.

Guys and Dolls was the Donmar's first production away from their Covent Garden home base. The classic musical opened at the Piccadilly June 1, 2005, with Ewan McGregor and Jane Krakowski as, respectively, Sky Masterson and Miss Adelaide. Krakowski won an Olivier Award for her performance, and the show received the Olivier for Outstanding Musical Production. The revival finished its run April 14, 2007.

Director Grandage is currently nominated for a 2007 Tony Award for his direction of Peter Morgan's Frost/Nixon.

Based on a story and characters by Damon Runyon, Guys and Dolls features music and lyrics by Frank Loesser and a book by Jo Swerling and Abe Burrows. The original Broadway production opened at Broadway's 46th Street Theatre in November 1950, running 1,200 performances before closing Nov. 28, 1953. Among the premiere cast were Robert Alda as Sky Masterson, Isabel Bigley as Sarah Brown, Sam Levene as Nathan Detroit and Vivian Blaine as Miss Adelaide. Blaine re-created her role for the 1955 film, which also starred Marlon Brando as Sky Masterson, Jean Simmons as Sarah Brown and Frank Sinatra as Nathan Detroit.

The most recent Broadway revival of Guys and Dolls featured Nathan Lane and Faith Prince. That Tony-winning revival, directed by Jerry Zaks, played 1,143 performances at the Martin Beck Theatre from March 1992-January 1995.

There has been no official announcement about the forthcoming Broadway revival.
