Tony Winner Wilson Says Relationship with Grey Gardens Co-star Ebersole Is Ideal

By Andrew Gans
10 Jun 2007

"I would say it's probably the only really ideal relationship I've ever had with another actor," newly-minted Tony winner Mary Louise Wilson said about her Tony-nominated Grey Gardens co-star Christine Ebersole.

"It's like a beautiful game of tennis," Wilson told the crowd in the Tony press room. "It's complete trust, and this happened right from the beginning. I looked at her, and I said, 'This woman is really good.' And I think she did the same thing with me. So we just decided to trust to each other [from the beginning]."

Mary Louise Wilson's numerous Broadway credits include The Women, Cabaret, The Odd Couple, Alice in Wonderland, Fools, The Philadelphia Story, The Importance of Being Earnest, The Royal Family, Gypsy, Watercolor & Criss-Crossing, Noel Coward's Sweet Potato, Lovers and Other Strangers, Hot Spot and Flora, The Red Menace.
