The American premiere of The Witches of Eastwick, the musical, opened June 15 at the Signature Theatre Company in Arlington, VA.

According to production notes, Signature artistic director Eric Schaeffer has given "this new production an edgier, sexier twist tailored for American audiences." Schaeffer also directed the world-premiere production in London's West End in 2000. Eastwick is based upon the John Updike novel and 1987 film. It features a score by Dana P. Rowe, with book and lyrics by John Dempsey.
