Following its current The Roast of Utopia, Forbidden Broadway will lampoon last season's other big Tony Award winner, Spring Awakening (among other targets), with the new revue called Rude Awakening. It begins Aug. 31.

Forbidden Broadway: Rude: Awakening Takes on spoofs of Spring Awakening as well as Curtains, A Chorus Line, "Grease: You're The One That We Want," Legally Blonde, Frost/Nixon, Mary Poppins, Company and Grey Gardens, among others.

The cast will feature Jared Bradshaw, Janet Dickinson, Valerie Fagan and Michael West, with David Caldwell on piano. This edition is created and written by Alessandrini and directed by Phillip George with Alessandrini.

The design team includes Megan Halpern (set), Mark Janowitz (lights) and Alvin Colt (costumes).

The current edition of the long-running revue, The Roast of Utopia, continues through Aug. 22.

Alessandrini received a 2006 Tony Honor for his creation Forbidden Broadway.
