New York Musical Theatre Festival Announces Five Additional Musicals

Five additional musicals will be part of the New York Musical Theatre Festival's Invited Works series this September, as part of the three-week celebration of the next generation of writers for the musical theatre.
The Invited Works series will feature 16 musicals, joining the 18 new works announced in May that were chosen from NYMF's open submissions Next Link series.
Joining the previously announced 12 works in the Invited Works series will be:
Bernice Bobs Her Mullet

"Bernice Bobs Her Mullet is a fun, makeover-musical about a young redneck who leaves her podunk hometown to experience life in the big city (Little Rock)! And it isn't long before she discovers the scariest part of urban living... spoiled teenagers! The Last Starfighter

Now in its fourth year, The New York Musical Theatre Festival has provided artists writing for the theatre a chance to stage their works in a time when it has become cost prohibitive to do so.
Over 90 productions have taken part in the fast-growing, largest musical theatre festival in the world.
