By Andrew Gans
27 Aug 2007

Kathy Deitch

Kathy Deitch, who is part of the ensemble of Broadway's Wicked, performs a benefit concert at the Zipper Factory Aug. 27.

The evening, entitled All Heart, will feature tunes by the rock group Heart. Proceeds will benefit the Bob Fennell Scholarship at Brooklyn College and the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Show time is 8 PM.

Deitch will be backed by singer Asmeret Ghebremichael as well as Ric Molina and Greg Skaff on guitar, Alex Lacamoire on keyboards, Gary Seligsen on drums, Mike Blanco on bass and Jason Sirois on flute.

Kathy Deitch is featured in the ensemble of Wicked, and she was also seen on Broadway as Urleen in Footloose. She played Crissy in the European tour of Hair and was part of the City Center Encores! production of that musical as well. Deitch was featured as a Chubb Club Dancer on "The Rosie O'Donnell Show," and the actress also directed the NY Fringe Festival production of Face Value.

Bob Fennell was the lead publicist for Wicked. Fennell died Nov. 12, 2006, of liver cancer. He was 48. At the time of his death, he also handled press for The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee and the Broadway revival of Richard Greenberg's Three Days of Rain, which brought Julia Roberts to the New York stage.

The Zipper Factory is located in Manhattan at 237 West 37th Street. Tickets, priced $25 (advance) and $35 (at the door), are available by calling (212) 352-3101 or by visiting www.thezipperfactory.com.
