Kuhn, Lipton, Rebeck, Cannavale and More Set for Barnes and Noble Events

Lincoln Triangle's Barnes and Noble continues to offer cabaret and theatre lovers up-close encounters with some of their favorite performers, as well as newcomers to the scene, with its selection of open panel discussions, performances and signings.

On Sept. 25 Barnes and Noble will host playwright/author Theresa Rebeck, whose play Mauritius makes its Broadway debut in September. Rebeck will speak about her new book "Free Fire Zone." In addition, Mauritius cast members Alison Pill and Bobby Cannavale will present a scene from that play for those in attendance.

On Oct. 4 Barnes and Noble presents a program built around the new best seller "The House That George Built." Eric Comstock will be featured with several other cabaret/theatre performers to be announced, who will pay tribute to the golden days of Broadway musicals.

On October 23 James Lipton will be on hand to discuss his new book "Inside Inside."

Barnes and Noble's Any Wednesday series will feature cabaret and Broadway vocalists performing and signing their latest works. The artists scheduled to perform and sign their latest recordings include Milla Ilieva (Sept. 5), Jack Donahue (Sept. 19), Leslie Orofino (Sept. 26), Broadway favorite Judy Kuhn (Oct. 3), New Voices: featuring Deb Shulman, Marcus Simeone and Laura Wolfe (Oct. 10), Linda Kosut (Oct. 17), Cynthia Krane (Oct. 24) and Barbara Rosene (Oct. 31)

In addition, Barnes and Noble will host several panels in conjunction with the upcoming New York Musical Theatre Festival.

On Sept. 20 Peter Filichia moderates a panel discussion with writer and librettist teams Gary Adler, Kevin del Aguila & Michael Patrick Walker (Altar Boyz) and Charlie Gilbert & Albert Innaurato (Gemini the Musical),who will discuss their writing partnerships.

On Sept. 27 Kris Stewart speaks with the musical theatre writers Joe Iconis (Things to Ruin), Joel Adlen (Emma) and Paul Scott Goodman (Bright Lights, Big City) and Cara Reichel, producing artistic director of the Prospect Theater Company, about how they learned to self-produce and control their careers.
