Will Lithgow Return to Broadway in Miller's All My Sons?

| photo by Aubrey Reuben | Tony Award winner John Lithgow — most recently on Broadway in the musical Dirty Rotten Scoundrels — may be returning to the New York stage in the spring.
The New York Post reports that the star of stage and screen will head the cast of a Broadway revival of Arthur Miller's All My Sons. No theatre or opening date has been announced.
All My Sons tells the story of a man who hastily sold defective airplane parts to the Army, which caused the crafts to crash and kill 21 men. His crime, which he long had deflected by blaming his business partner, now comes back to light as his son plans to wed the partner's daughter.
The work earned 1947 Tony Awards for author Miller and director Elia Kazan. That production starred Ed Begley and Karl Malden. The play was later adapted for the screen in 1948 featuring Edward G. Robinson and Burt Lancaster. A 1987 revival was presented at the John Golden Theatre starring Richard Kiley.
John Lithgow was most recently on Broadway as con man Lawrence Jameson Dirty Rotten Scoundrels. His other recent theatrical credits include A.R. Gurney's political comedy Mrs. Farnsworth and The Retreat From Moscow. Lithgow won Tony Awards for his work in The Changing Room and Sweet Smell of Success and received Tony nominations for Scoundrels, Requiem for a Heavyweight and M. Butterfly. He was also recently seen in the "Dreamgirls" film as a 1970s Hollywood producer.
