Caroline, or Change's Chad Cast in NYMF's The Family Fiorelli

By Andrew Gans
14 Sep 2007

Harrison Chad, who played the young Noah Gellman in Caroline, or Change, will star in The Family Fiorelli, part of the New York Musical Theatre Festival.

Chad, who also appears on Nickelodeon Jr.'s "Dora the Explorer," will play 14-year-old Martin Fiorelli, a karate kid who suffers from a mild case of cerebral palsy. The new musical — directed by Robert Bartley — will run Sept. 27-Oct. 6 at Off-Broadway's TBG Theatre.

The cast will also include Kathryn Quinlan as Lidia Fiorelli and Kevin Reed as master vintner, Benno, with Sy Adamowsky, Brad Coolidge, Frank Anderson, Daria Hardeman, Adrianne Hick, Emily Kate Fox and Mathew Robert. Mark Janas is musical director.

The Family Fiorelli features a pop/rock score by Alastair William King (music) and Fred Anthony Marco (lyrics); Marco also penned the book. The musical, according to press notes, tells the story of "a wine-making family struggling to keep their vineyard afloat as they are each struck with personal crises that result in complicated, funny and ultimately cathartic ends."

Performance dates are Sept. 27 at 8 PM, Sept. 28 at 1 PM, Sept. 30 at 4:30 PM, Oct. 3 at 8 PM, Oct. 5 at 8 PM and Oct. 6 at 4:30 PM.

The TBG Theater is located in Manhattan at 312 West 36th Street. Tickets are available by calling (212) 352-3101; for more information visit www.thefamilyfiorelli.com.
