Casting is complete for the upcoming production of Yank! - A New Musical, which will be presented by the Brooklyn theatre company The Gallery Players.

Directed by Igor Goldin, the production will begin performances Oct. 20 and will play a limited engagement through Nov. 4. Joining the previously announced Nancy Anderson (Wonderful Town, A Class Act) and Jeffry Denman (The Producers, How to Succeed…) will be Bobby Steggert, who received an Outer Critics Circle nomination for his performance in the recent revival of 110 in the Shade, as well as Chris Carfizzi, Jonathan Day, Maxime de Toledo, Todd Faulkner, Tyson Kaup, Matthew Marks, Brian Mulay, Daniel Shevlin and James Stover.

Yank takes its title from the World War II publication Yank Magazine. The musical, which was penned by brothers David and Joseph Zellnik, is described as such: "Yank! tells the story of a war reporter named Stu and an army private named Mitch, who fall in love and struggle to survive in a time and place where the odds are stacked against them. Intelligent and impassioned, suffused with songs in swing, big band and boogie-woogie styles, the show explores the stories that don't get told in wartime, and how WWII became a great catalyst in bringing gay men and women together."

Yank! was previously seen as apart of the 2005 New York Musical Theatre Festival.

The creative team for the upcoming production includes Daniel Feyer (musical director), Wayne Yeager (technical director/scenic carpenter), Ray Klausen (scenic consultant), Ken Lapham (lighting designer) and Josh Clayton (orchestrator).

Show times are Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 8 PM and Sundays at 3 PM.

The Gallery Players is located at 199 14th Street, between 4th and 5th Avenues, in Park Slope, Brooklyn. For tickets, priced $14 and $18, call (212) 352-3101 or visit www.galleryplayers.com.
