Robert Cuccioli — who recently starred in the once-Broadway-bound musical Lone Star Love — has lined up his next gig: starring in Man of La Mancha in New York.

Part of the Broadway Classics series at the White Plains Performing Arts Center in White Plains, NY, the staging will run Nov. 29-Dec. 16.

Luke Yankee directs the production with choreography by Devanand Janki. Based on the Miguel de Cervantes classic tale of "Don Quixote," the musical features a book by Dale Wasserman, music by Mitch Leigh and lyrics by Joe Darion. The score features "The Impossible Dream," "Dulcinea" and the title song, among others.

Cuccioli was Tony Award-nominated for his turn in Jekyll & Hyde. Other stage credits for the veteran actor include Jacques Brel Is Alive and Well and Living in Paris, Les Misérables and the Actors' Fund benefit concert of On the Twentieth Century. Lone Star Love played an out-of-town pre-Broadway engagement in Seattle in recent weeks, and the producers pulled the plug.

The design team for La Mancha includes Michael Hotopp (set), Carrie Robbins (costumes) and Thom Weaver (lighting). Further casting will be announced shortly.

Tickets to Man of La Mancha at White Plains Performing Arts Center, at 11 City Place (on the third level of City Center) in downtown White Plains, are available by calling (914) 328-1600 or online at wppac.com.
