The Remembered, Inspired by Letters Left at Vietnam Memorial, Gets Long Island Reading

Hofstra Entertainment presents a staged reading of Elliott Levine's new drama, The Remembered, inspired by letters left at the Vietnam War memorial, Oct. 13-14.
Bob Spiotto directs the presentation, which borrows visual images from the book "Letters on the Wall: Offerings and Remembrances From the Vietnam Veterans Memorial" by Michael Sofarelli.
The drama presented on Long Island is in commemoration of the 25th anniversary of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, DC.
Performances play Oct. 13 at 8 PM and Oct. 14 at 2 PM at the John Cranford Adams Playhouse, South Campus, in Hempstead, Long Island, NY.
According to Hofstra Entertainment, "This unique performance has been drawn from letters left at the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall by family and friends of soldiers killed during the Vietnam War. Their stories and messages remind a nation that many continue to grieve the loss of loved ones and, today, are still trying to come to terms with what many consider to be America's most controversial war."
The play "shares stories of war, messages from loved ones and unmet family, as well as the challenges faced by those who continue to deal with the war and its aftermath."
Proceeds will benefit the Hofstra University Veterans Alumni Association Endowed Scholarship and the Stephen B. Carlin/Walter W. Rudolph Endowed Scholarship.
Audience members will receive a complimentary commemorative bracelet.
