MTV gets ready to "Bend and Snap" as the new Broadway musical Legally Blonde makes its network television debut Oct. 13 at 1 PM ET.

The broadcast includes the Broadway musical in its entirety as well as behind-the-scenes footage and a pre-show, celebrity- studded "pink carpet." The latter features the cast of the MTV series "The Hills," including Lauren Conrad, Audrina Patridge and Whitney Port, who hosted the pre-show Pink Carpet in front of Broadway's Palace Theatre.

The pre-show "pink carpet" event also captures the arrivals of the Legally Blonde stars as well as New York glam designer Richie Rich, "TRL" host Damien Fahey, "America's Next Top Model" CariDee English, "Top Model" competitor Kim Stolz, actress Keke Palmer, musician Kat DeLuna, "tween" stars the Rosso Twins, Alex and Nat Wolff of Nickelodeon's "The Naked Brothers Band" and pop band the Plain White T's.

A primetime airing of Legally Blonde will also take place at 8 PM on Oct. 13, with future airings scheduled for 9 AM Oct. 14 and 11 AM Oct. 19.

The stage production of Legally Blonde was filmed a total of three times — once in its entirety, another without an audience, and a Sept. 18 filming with an audience of theatregoers ages 15-25. That performance took on a more interactive feel with the entire orchestra section full of pink-clad fans. All of the footage has been combined for the MTV broadcast.

Directed and choreographed by Tony Award Jerry Mitchell, Legally Blonde officially opened at the Palace Theatre April 29. The new musical began previews April 3. The original cast recording is available on Ghostlight Records.

Laura Bell Bundy (Hairspray, Wicked) plays sorority girl Elle Woods, who gets dumped by her boyfriend and follows him to Harvard Law School. The Blonde cast also includes Christian Borle (Spamalot) as Emmett, Orfeh (Saturday Night Fever) as Paulette, Richard H. Blake (The Wedding Singer) as Warner, Kate Shindle (Cabaret) as Vivienne, Nikki Snelson (Off-Broadway's How to Save the World…) as Brooke and Tony Award winner Michael Rupert (Sweet Charity, The Happy Time, Ragtime) as Professor Callahan.

The score is by Laurence O'Keefe (Bat Boy: The Musical) and Nell Benjamin (Sarah, Plain and Tall) with a book by Heather Hach (the film "Freaky Friday"). James Sampliner serves as music director. Orchestrations are by Christopher Jahnke.

Legally Blonde features scenic design by David Rockwell, costume design by Gregg Barnes, lighting design by Kenneth Posner and Paul Miller and sound design by ACME Sound Partners.

Hal Luftig, Fox Theatricals and Dori Berinstein produce the show on Broadway, in association with MGM Onstage, Darcie Denkert and Dean Stolber.
