Blanchett, Burstyn, Portman, Sarsgaard, Strathairn, Stritch and Wiest to Read Right You Are

Cate Blanchett, Ellen Burstyn, Natalie Portman, Peter Sarsgaard, David Strathairn, Elaine Stritch and Dianne Wiest comprise the starry cast of the upcoming reading of Luigi Pirandello's Right You Are (If You Think You Are).
Italian artist Francesco Vezzoli will stage the event Oct. 27 as part of Performa 07 — a second biennial visual art performance taking place Oct. 27-Nov. 20. The Pirandello work will be presented in the rotunda of the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum.
Cosi’ e (se vi pare) or Right You Are (If You Think You Are) will mark the first-ever live performance staged by Vezzoli — one of ten featured artists commissioned to create new works for the festival.
The 1917 Pirandello play "examines the fundamental ambiguity of truth, and the seductive powers of language in conjuring up a female character who may never actually appear amongst the actors on stage as they obsessively dissect her attributes and identity," as press materials explain. "Rumor and celebrity mongering become the substitute for a deeply examined life."
The sold-out performance of Right You Are... will play at the Guggenheim Museum, 1071 Fifth Avenue (at 89th Street). For more information visit 07.performa arts.org.
