Young Directors Will Be Showcased in DirectorFest 2007 Dec. 6-9

The Drama League will present its 24th annual directors project, DirectorFest 2007, featuring one-act works staged by up- and-coming young directors Dec. 6-9.
Participants in the Drama League's Fall Directing Fellows project include D. Wambui Richardson, Dan Rigazzi, Joanie Schultz and Gaye Taylor Upchurch. The Fall Directing Fellows is the only U.S. career development program guaranteeing directors the opportunity to stage a professional production.
One of the works that will be staged is Don Evans' Sugar Mouth Sam Don't Dance No More, which concerns "two off-again, on-again lovers [who] try one last time to rekindle a romance." D. Wambui Richardson will direct.
In Julia Cho's The 100 Most Beautiful Names of Todd, "a young woman tries to help her daughter hold on to the memory of her father"; Dan Rigazzi will direct.
Sean Graney's Autophagy will be staged by Joanie Schultz and concerns "a young woman looking for love [who] gets more than she bargained for when she meets an android."
Jordan Harrison's Fit for Feet, which will be directed by Gaye Taylor Upchurch, is described as such: "As their wedding day approaches, a young couple finds their new love is tested when the husband-to-be begins to believe he is Nijinsky."
Each performance of DirectorFest 2007 will feature all four one-acts in succession.
